Shoot with Paul Stevens, John lomas and Amy Roche

Hey everyone, thought it was about time for blog No.2. This is just a blog about one of my photoshoots, not a tutorial but i will explain a little about the make up techniques used.

So the day started off well, as usual i was totally bored so i attacked my face with make up and glitter :p This was the result a glitter spider web look.

So this look consisted of a basic black smokey eye. I kept it fairly light in the inner corner of the eye and extended the eyeliner to a point past the natural waterline finish to give the look a sharp almost vampire finish. As you can see i totally love my glitter and i was in a bit of a mood this day. So i went with a spider web pattern . i used a glitter liquid eyeliner to achieve this and added little pearls that i got from the scrap booking section of spotlight(seriously obsessed with these things) no glue needed as they have a self adhesive. And i finished the look with a red lippy from my lipstick pallet (i'll up load pics of my pallets and products soon)

So after doing this i started getting ready for my shoot in the afternoon. Which just involved cleaning my brushes, packing up my kit and doing a quick dash into the chemist warehouse for some lashes. And then Daddy and me left for the studio in Brisbane.

We arrived at the studio early :p which wasn't a problem as John was happy to show us his new work while we chatted about the concept for the night and nibbled on chocies. We were going with a glamor pin up look as the model Amy has tattoos.

Soon after Amy and Paul arrived and we got costumes sorted and make up started. The first look was a smokey gold cat eyed style. Amy has awesome lips so it was easy to make them look full and beautiful. Bellow is a pic of the first of three looks for the night.

So here's a quick explanation of the make up process. As usual i started with the eyes to avoid ruining any foundation work. The eyes are a basic smokey eye that's drawn out and smudged up slightly. Blending is key for this look and only certain eye types can pull it off. Amy has very large eye which are perfect for this look. Then i applied the lashes, drew in and shaped her eyebrows and finished the foundation. Lastly i bronzed and toned and applied the red lippy.

We had a lot of fun with different props and accessories with this look, unfortunately i don't have pics of them all yet. The next look is almost the same with a change of lips. Amy and I found an epic corset in the props room and thought we'd make the most of it. So i did lips to match. After putting the corset on upside down :p lol and having to right our mistake i did a quick touch up of foundation and eyeliner we were ready to shoot look no.2

Sorry i don't have a close up. but it was basically a nice metallic gold to match the corset with pink geometric lines. Lots of fun. i hardly ever get to play around on models with random lips, so i was very happy when the guys gave me permission. Here's a another pics for you that shows the epic corset.

The final look was again the same eyes with a change of lips back to red. I also added some of my famous ;p pearls. again i touched up the foundation and eyeliner to make sure the look stayed clean. here some pics of the final look on Amy

So after finishing shooting we packed up and said our goodbyes. I was very please with the results of this shoot. Paul and john are always a pleasure to with with and Amy was a great and beautiful model. You can view Paul's work here http://www.modelmayhem.com/809675
